52 Guitars, week 51—Knaggs Guitars Influence Electric ‘Kenai’ (Tier: 3)

If this is your first time to my website, here are a few things you need to know. Firstly, I love black and/or white. I love black and white so much I’ve dedicated this website to only black and white content. I also love guitars. I love all kinds of guitars. So when you find a guitar that combines those two loves for me, I’m one incredibly happy guy. This week I discovered the Knaggs Guitars Influence Electric “Kenai” (Tier: 3) in a faded Onyx finish and I’m ecstatic.

There are quite a few Influence models to choose from on the Knaggs Guitars website. Obviously the black and white tones in the faded Onyx finish appeal to me more than any other variation, but what remains constant and appealing in all models are these things:

  • Rosewood fingerboard
  • Mahogany body with a curly maple top
  • Ebony veneer headstock
  • Open back tuning pegs (these look amazing)
  • Knaggs Influence bridge (this also looks amazing)
  • Humbucker or P90 pickups
  • Twin volume controls plus twin tone controls
  • Three-way pickup selector switch.

Impressive right?! I am a huge fan of the open back tuning pegs and the bridge. Both of these pieces are just beautiful. They’re both perfect examples of what Knaggs Guitars has done to turn a familiar guitar shape and style into something unique. These days, that’s a difficult thing to do well.

These are just awesome looking guitars. Steve Stevens has his own signature model Kenai and it’s also amazing. If I had any model I’d be beside myself. That wouldn’t be a bad thing though. It would be easier to watch myself play this beautiful looking guitar.

Disclaimer: I’ve not played this guitar. I have not experienced the sound or feel of this guitar. That doesn’t matter. It looks awesome, it’s obviously played by winners and I want one.
