52 Guitars, week 40—Aristides 010 Matt White

I have posted a few articles about non-wood based guitars this year. It almost seems like non-wood is the new wood. Well, it can’t be, but that’s how these sayings go. Today’s guitar is also from the non-wood family. It’s made from Arium. You’re going to have to read about that yourself. Why? Because reading about vibrationsensitive glass particles seems like learning to me. Nobody comes here to learn. People come here to discover guitars like the Aristides 010 Matt White and/or wonder why they’re here at all.

The Aristides 010 Matt White is not only made from Arium, it’s made as a one-piece design. According to the official website, this technique combined with the material itself creates incredible sustain. 45 seconds from the low E string actually. That’s impressive. But enough talk/type. Let’s see the stats:

  • Ebony fretboard (22 frets)
  • Sperzel locking tuning pegs
  • Seymour Duncan USA TB-5 (bridge), APS-2rwrp (middle), and APS-2 (neck)
  • Wilkinson tremolo bridge by Gotoh

  • Master volume (push/pull) and master tone
  • 5-way pickup switch
  • Microchipped!
  • 3.8KG weight (awesome!)

That all sounds cool does it not? I believe it does. And the other feature I’ve intentionally left for last in this article is this … The guitar happens to look amazing.

The overall aerodynamic look of the guitar and the way the input connection has been tied into the grooved design of the guitar is just amazing. The bridge is beautiful. The 5-way pickup selector is built straight into the body—beautiful. I even love the 010 12 fret inlay. This guitar may just be flawless.

Disclaimer: I’ve not played this guitar. I have not experienced the sound or feel of this guitar. That doesn’t matter. It looks awesome, it’s obviously played by winners and I want one.
